SafeGolf

Low Laithes Golf Club is committed to ensure that the sport of golf is one within which children, young people and adults alike can thrive and flourish in a safe environment and have a fun, safe and memorable experience.  We are an affiliated member of England Golf and follow the England Golf “Safeguarding of Children and Young People” & “Adults – Safeguarding” policy and procedures.

Government guidance makes it clear that ‘Safeguarding is everyone’s responsibility’. Anyone who has a negative experience of sport is less likely to become a regular long-term participant. It’s important for the future of our club and the sport as a whole that all golfers and particularly children, young people and vulnerable adults have an enjoyable experience.

All members should contribute to the club meeting its overall duty of care, be aware of our club’s safeguarding policy, and know what to do if they are concerned about a fellow golfer.  We ask our members to familiarise yourself with the Low Laithes Golf Club Safeguarding Policy.

What should I do if I’m concerned about a golfer, particularly a child, young person or vulnerable adult?  If you are concerned about a fellow golfer, it is not your responsibility to investigate further, but it is your responsibility to act on your concerns by sharing them.  Pass the information to the Club Welfare Officer who will follow the club’s Safeguarding procedures.
